Motorola Solutions has officially announced the cancellation of the highly popular EVX-S24 portable two-way radio, passing the torch to its highly anticipated successor: the new EVX-S30.
While the EVX-S24 has been a reliable staple for professional and industrial teams needing discreet, compact communications, the era of the S24 has come to a close. However, current fleets don't need to panic. Motorola has confirmed that robust support and spare parts for the EVX-S24 will remain available, ensuring a smooth transition for businesses that are not quite ready to upgrade their entire fleet today.
The new EVX-S30 retains the discreet footprint that made the EVX-S24 so successful while bringing the internal hardware squarely into the modern era. Designed for fast-paced environments—from manufacturing floors to hospitality and also schools, the S30 operates on both analog and digital networks. This allows businesses to seamlessly integrate the new handsets into their existing radio fleets, upgrading step-by-step without a massive, disruptive overhaul.
Despite weighing just 215 grams and measuring a mere 91 mm in height, the EVX-S30 doesn't compromise on durability. It boasts full MIL-STD 810 compliance and a dust-tight, water-submersible IP67 rating, meaning sudden drops, heavy metallic dust, or accidental submersions won't interrupt the workday.
